Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride Response
SUNPRO provided emergency spill response to a leaking intermodal box that contained approximately 160 60-pound cylinders of Anhydrous Hydrogen Chloride. Work included air monitoring and data gathering to be used to model the release and direct the excavation process. Each cylinder was removed, checked for leaks, given a neutralization bath and secured on shipping pallets. Once all of the cylinders were secured and inventoried, the intermodal container was decontaminated. Upon completion, the cylinders were reloaded into the container, blocked and braced for transportation to the original destination.
